WARSAW, Poland — The towering tree is believed to have been Adolf Hitler’s gift to the occupied town of Jaslo — planted to the sound of a Nazi band during World War II.
Town authorities now want it cut down and burned to make way for a new roundabout. But some residents have become attached to the 40-foot oak and are lobbying to save it.

The Tree should stay.
I agree Rubin, If the people want it to stay, it should stay. Regardless of who planted it, It is a part of the town’s history and should be maintained as such.
I totally think that it should be burned to the ground. Just put yourself back then in time and imagine that nazi band playing and then Hitler giving that town a gift of a tree after planing to kill half of polands jews. I mean who would want a gift from hitler to begin with. If it was up to me I would put that tree through a wood chipper.
